Morson are recruiting Ship service technicianss on behalf of our prestigious defence client, for a 12-month initial contract, on site in Portsmouth working on the carriers and the diamond project in the new year. Salary:
Local contractors
Standard: PAYE: £19.40 UMBRELLA: £25.22

Nightshift: PAYE: £25.22, UMBRELLA: £32.62

Travelling contractors
Standard: PAYE: £27.40, UMBRELLA: £35.61
Nightshift: PAYE: £33.22, UMBRELLA: £43.02

Role description:

 To respond to the requirements of the Ship Services Team Manager.
 Due regard to be given at all times to the provision of a safe working environment and ensuring the health and safety of others who may be affected by your actions.

What you will be doing:

 To develop and maintain a broad knowledge of electro/mechanical systems associated with RN ships so as to ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
 Carry out as directed, electro/ mechanical low level maintenance and equipment keep alive as required by contract specification.
 To assist with implementing the Health and Safety controls in ship’s for which BAE has Care and Custody. This is to include but is not limited to:
 Permits to Work for Lock Off andTag Out, Hot Work, Working at Height and Confined Spaces
 Maintain Tag out database and produce reports as required.
 Inboard connection/disconnection of dockside services required to support ship needs. Including Main switchboard operation.

Candidate must be flexible to work shift patterns, full rate card available on request.
Most importantly successful candidates will be required to gain security clearance before eligible to start on site (we will help you with all paperwork)
