Process Engineer

Location: Aiken, SC or Savannah, SC (On-site 2-3 days per week)
Employment Type: Contract 
Duration: 1 Year
Project: Savannah River Mission Completion
Hours: 40 hrs a week

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Process Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry, ideally with this as their most recent professional experience. The role requires on-site presence in Aiken, SC or Savannah, SC for 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes within nuclear facilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Perform detailed process simulations, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
  • Develop process documentation, including flow diagrams, P&IDs, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Oversee implementation and troubleshooting of processes during construction, testing, and operational phases.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry, with preference for candidates whose most recent experience is in this field.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Availability to be on-site in Aiken, SC or Savannah, SC for 2-3 days per week.
