Role Purpose
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in designing electrical systems and managing specialist procurement packages within key heavy industries. You will also provide crucial support for ongoing and future Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design projects.
Please note: Due to the nature of our projects, candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Design Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Design LV electrical distribution systems
- Contribute to the design of control systems, SCADA, and communication networks
- Prepare essential project documentation, including specifications, datasheets, cable calculations, schedules, and drawings
- Review and verify manufacturer documents to ensure compliance with project standards
- Collaborate with technical consultants and suppliers, building strong, positive relationships along the way
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for professionals who not only bring technical expertise but are also passionate about collaboration, innovation, and growth. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience working on mid-to-large scale construction projects in a Design Engineer capacity, particularly in Electrical Control & Instrumentation
- Confidence in taking the lead on designs and calculations
- Proficiency in using Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign or similar
- A collaborative mindset, working closely with other designers and project teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality design solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Strong communication skills, enabling you to clearly convey ideas and work effectively with diverse teams
- A strong understanding of industry codes of practice and regulations
- Ideally, experience across a broad range of heavy industries, such as petrochemical, power generation, or nuclear
