UUK is looking for a Logistics Systems Technical Specialist. This job is grade F.
Based at our Capenhurst site location, you’ll Improve the quality of Logistics systems, applications, data and information to optimise how UK Logistics realises it business processes, through valuable insights, which drive effective decision making.
The combination of tools, workflows, reports & dashboards, within the Logistics eco-system, should enable the workforce to become more productive over time allowing our people to focus on the core business of delivering effective Logistical services to the business.
The Logistics Systems Technical Specialist will be a key SME who understands the business process, is fluent with the IT capabilities which make up the Logistics technology eco-system and is able to assess, recommend and implement / support levels of change to systems working across Urenco (and necessary external parties) to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of Logistics Systems.
What you’ll do:
• Accountable for the software development life cycle on behalf of Logistics. This includes designing, programming, building, deploying, maintaining and improving software using the approved tools, and ensuring those systems remain functional.
• Accountable for the vision, strategy & roadmap of IT eco-system for Logistics, including the development of new systems, incorporating changes within current systems and working towards better integration of IT systems.
• Accountable for accessibility and integrity of data to support Logistics BAU and capability to make data driven decisions.
• Accountable for ensuring Logistics Management System supports the governance and resilience of IT systems and data.
• Supports the uranium accountancy team to process and validate data in a timely and accurate manner to support the management of uranic inventory at Urenco UK, Urenco ChemPlants and Urenco Nuclear Stewardship.
What do you need to thrive in this role?
• Operational site experience.
• Experience in implementation of changes in IT systems.
• Several years of experience in Logistics.
• Delivery of software solutions to support Logistics/manufacturing.
• Understanding of Logistics regulatory requirements.
• An excellent understanding of Logistics and plant operations and Company and Group-wide processes and organisational roles, typically with several years of expertise
• Highly proficient in the use of SAP, Excel
• Coding experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript or similar
