Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Gloucester

Overview:
Morson is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a skilled team in Gloucester, contributing to the EDF Project Controls Resource Framework. This role focuses on the unique and challenging task of defueling and decommissioning the AGR nuclear power station, marking a groundbreaking initiative in the UK.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility on office days, and requires monthly travel to sites including Sizewell B and Dungeness B. Applicants must be eligible for and able to retain CTC security clearance.

Skills and Experience Required:
• Possess understanding or experience with business systems, spreadsheet development, cost analysis, program evaluation and development, and assessment and evaluation of compensation events and/or variations.
• Continuously increase knowledge of various forms and options of contracts.
• Have experience or understanding of the risk management process for both schedule and cost, including the use of Earned Value Management.
• Excellent understanding of commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers.
• Practical measurement experience using an industry recognised methods of measurement (NRM2, SMM7, CESMM4, etc.).
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar field. Proven post graduate experience in construction industry in a commercial role

Key Responsibilities:
• Contributing to the efficient and effective management and issuance of accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence.
• Preparing or assessing applications, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
• Controlling costs and forecasting, as well as preparing and providing input for monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget.
• Preparing and agreeing on applications for payment or assessing and preparing payment certificates.
• Assisting with risk and value management to optimize solutions, monitoring, and regularly reviewing with the project team, and identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
• Managing contracts, including all relevant contractual forms, budgetary control methods, and relevant software applications.
