Senior Project Engineer – Nuclear Power

Location: Heysham 2 Power Station, Morecambe
Salary: Competitive (with excellent benefits)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, On-Site

Contract Type: Permanent

Your Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll manage engineering documentation, contractor selection, feasibility studies, and compliance. You’ll work on a variety of technical and construction projects at Heysham 2, a power station that has generated enough zero-carbon electricity to power Lancashire for 144 years!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing and maintaining engineering documentation, quality plans, and technical specifications
  • Managing technical queries and ensuring compliance with safety & regulatory standards
  • Supporting contractor selection and contract placement
  • Conducting technical appraisals, feasibility studies, and site surveys
  • Leading technical reviews of contractor documents and drawings
  • Preparing engineering changes and commissioning documents

What We’re Looking For:

  • Chartered Engineer or HND qualification
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
  • Experience managing construction projects under CDM
  • Strong technical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Power station/nuclear industry experience (preferred but not essential)
