Mechanical Project Engineer - Water - £55k

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in water/wastewater plant design, construction & procurement.
  • CSCS & EUSR cards, plus a full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of health & safety best practices (e.g., IOSH or CITB certification).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Water Industry Plant & Process.
  • Experience in design management, procurement, scheduling & risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Your Key Responsibilities

Design & Procurement: Oversee design outputs, procurement schedules & technical reviews.
Project Coordination: Manage sub-contract packages, ensuring integration & compliance.
Site Support: Work closely with construction teams, attending sites & monitoring progress.
Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, method statements & factory acceptance tests.
Delivery & Efficiency: Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope & to high safety standards.
