Morson Talent are working alongside their client to recruit Control Panel/Hardware Design Engineers to join thier Nuclear Team as they prepare for upcoming exciting projects.
The role is based in either Stone Stafford, Reading AWE, Cumbria or Yorkshire
The role involves designing hardware systems using proprietary hardware components for control panels, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, Drives & Controls, and Switchgear. Duties include preparing, reviewing, and checking necessary calculations and designs, with occasional travel to customer sites for surveys and designing solutions.
They specialise in operational technology and digital transformation, continuously innovating to stay at the forefront of their field. They operate in highly regulated and challenging industrial environments, delivering critical projects across energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing sectors.
Skills:
Knowledge of designing electrical panels containing PLCs and LV distribution systems
Design of electrical cabling and containment systems
Educated to at least degree level in a relevant subject or HND with additional project implementation experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Microsoft Office Word & Excel
Ability to achieve security clearance to at least SC level, possibly DV
Excellent communication skills for client contact and mentoring
Ability to mentor and develop engineers and technicians
Good working knowledge of related safety and environmental legislation
Ability to develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations
Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1 and BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
