West Midlands, England

Job Title: Commissioning Manager
Location: Coventry / Derby
Full-time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Commissioning Manager looking for a fresh challenge where you can make a real impact on the environment, people, and future infrastructure? Do you thrive in a collaborative setting where innovation and quality are just as important as timelines and budget? If so, we want to hear from you.

About the Role:

We’re on the lookout for a capable Commissioning Manager to join a high-performing Capital Delivery team, leading and mentoring a diverse group of commissioning engineers across a variety of technically complex and forward-thinking projects within the water sector.

You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our assets are brought into service safely and efficiently, all while playing a pivotal role in improving environmental outcomes and contributing to cleaner rivers and better water for customers.

This is your opportunity to own the commissioning process — to influence, shape, and innovate while supporting a team that genuinely cares about the quality of their work and the communities they serve.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading and developing a team of Commissioning Engineers across a portfolio of capital projects
  • Collaborating with Design, Delivery, and Operational teams to ensure commissioning plans align with project objectives
  • Ensuring projects are adequately resourced, risks are mitigated, and commissioning is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards
  • Driving best practice across processes, documentation, and Health & Safety
  • Mentoring delivery partners and team members while promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Representing the commissioning team in stakeholder discussions and managing escalated issues to resolution

✅ What You’ll Need:

  • Extensive experience in commissioning of Waste and Water Treatment Plants & associated processes
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and plant performance verification
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, NEC contracts, and risk management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams with a hands-on leadership style
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Electrically qualified with up-to-date regulations knowledge
  • HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant Engineering or Process discipline
  • Full UK driving license and relevant site safety accreditations (e.g. CSCS, IOSH)

Why Apply?

  • Lead a team on industry-leading projects that make a tangible difference
  • Autonomy to shape processes and implement innovative commissioning practices
  • Join a forward-thinking organisation with a strong culture of development, collaboration, and excellence
  • Play a key role in the delivery of sustainable, high-quality infrastructure for generations to come
