We are looking for a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team, where you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that support the operations of a leading transportation company. Details of the role:
• To be the embedded Systems Engineer into any of our existing major programme, e.g. Piccadilly Line Upgrade programme, Bakerloo Line upgrade Programme or TRAM train replacement programme, etc.
• To act as a key steering voice in the programme, ensuring that systems thinking is at the forefront of decision-making.
• Responsible for defining and delivering the Systems Engineering deliverables for the programme
• Organise and support Gate reviews in relation with the specific programme / project.
• Assist in the management and closing out items in the programme Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions, Opportunities (RAIDDO) register.
• Contributing to the overall requirements management, their apportionment to each sub-programme and their compliance.
• Support the development of the V&V programme of work and assurance evidence gathering for closing out of all the programme requirements.
• Support the development of the Physical and Geographical Architectures for the various migration stages for the programme.
• Support the management of the programme interface registers.
• Support the production of each System Design and its review and baseline process.
• Produce the relevant and required assurance case / documentation to support the various programme/projects lifecycle phases/stages.
Skills:
• Ability to understand complex systems and processes
• Ability to elicit, analyse, level and mange requirements e.g. stakeholder, user, technical
• Ability to transform requirements into specifications, architectures, and system breakdown
Knowledge:
• General understanding of systems engineering management
• Good domain knowledge of the relevant transport and/ or infrastructure system
• Awareness of requirements management techniques
• Awareness of specification and visualisation of complex systems and processes
• Awareness of systems engineering sub-disciplines: system architecting and modelling, interface management and requirements/configuration management
• Knowledge of whole life cost analysis
Experience:
• Working experience of the systems engineering sub-disciplines, e.g. system architecting and modelling, interface management and requirements/configuration management
• Experience in planning and applying systems engineering activities
• Experience in applying systems engineering methods and tools
