We have a fantastic opportunity for a Training & Development Specialist join our Mobility Education and Skills (E&S) Training function. Reporting to the Senior Training & Development Specialist and working on supporting the ETCS Freight Onboard project for a period of 6 months.
You will be involved in the development of training materials for the ETCS Freight Onboard project which focus on the training of the freight operator maintenance and operations trainers in how to use the Onboard System and maybe required to deliver courses
You will need to apply your existing experience to delivering the ETCS training material to ensure key business deliverables are achieved.
You will support the drive for Siemens’ training offering forward using technology and modern training techniques. Behaviours are a major factor in this role with a strong focus on Stakeholder engagement.
This role reports to the Senior Training & Development Specialist and works with the ETCS Freight Onboard project.
Key Accountabilities:
Key Competence Area
Technical Training Shared To develop and deliver learning / training solutions for both operator and maintainer using a combined approach to external staff
Responsible for the creation of new course material, the update of existing material and developing requirement and story boards for e-learning.
Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with safety and quality procedures and meet all applicable legislation, safety/customer standards and project requirements.
Technical Assessments
Shared
Work with the relevant professional groups / departments across SMO to carry out technical assessments where required
Project and New Business Development Support Shared. Support the Freight Onboard project in delivering the agreed training requirements
Customer Relationships
Full
Collaboration with internal and external customers to identify and deliver the training requirements for their area of responsibility.
Develop a relationship with the customer that provides a stable foundation for future business opportunities. Collate and respond to customer feedback to ensure Mobility builds trust and confidence in the market.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How
Essential:
Be educated to HNC level in a STEM subject.
Knowledge of ETCS principles
Knowledge of locomotive operations and maintenance
Experience in developing training material and supporting development of training strategies.
The ability to write and review course material.
Ability to be trained in related field of expertise.
Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with customers at all levels.
Excellent communication skills and influencing skills.
Good presentation skills
Excellent organizational and time management skill
Able to work on own initiative as part of a virtual team.
Experience with video processing and transmission systems
Experience in an industry with high levels of regulation and compliance
Awareness of safety critical working.
Preferred:
Be able to teach aspects of onboard ETCS signalling systems
Experience with application of distributed systems or control system networks.
Cybersecurity
CIPD Training and Development qualification or equivalent experience
Courses to be delivered.
