Morson are proud to be partnering with a major UK port operator that manages several key maritime locations across the country, including container terminals, cargo handling, and logistics services. It plays a significant role in facilitating trade, handling millions of tonnes of cargo annually, and serves a wide range of industries such as retail, manufacturing, and construction. The operator is known for its investments in port infrastructure, technology, and sustainable practices, aiming to boost efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Their operations span across key regions, connecting the UK with international markets through extensive sea, rail, and road networks.
Key responsibilities:
The role aims to ensure the ongoing success of the business by developing a sustainable, value-driven, and resilient supply chain. It will focus on Category Management, implementing Supplier Relationship Management, and executing supply chain strategies and value-driven initiatives.
Engaging with stakeholders to align business strategies and policies, supporting the successful delivery of category plans.
Building strong supplier relationships to drive value and innovation, ensuring compliance with contracts and proactive supplier management across a diverse portfolio.
Providing commercial expertise to help leaders and managers identify and mitigate commercial risks.
Knowledge, Key Skills & Qualifications:
Experienced leading the implementation and development of category strategies working within a regulated environment.
MCIPS qualified would be an advantage.
Able to work cross functionally within a complex stakeholder organisation structure.
Strong Supplier Relationship Management skills.
Prior experience working within a highly regulated environment (ideally under UCR regs)
