Our client Scottish Power Renewables are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join their team in Glasgow on a hybrid basis.

It is a 12 month contract role inside IR35 paying competitive rates.

ScottishPower Renewables Onshore operate over 40 renewable energy sites (wind generation, solar PV
and battery energy storage) and a growing number of projects under construction. SPR Onshore has
adopted a sustainability strategy that sets out sustainable development aims including how the business
will support delivery of ScottishPower Action 2030 and Iberdrola sustainability targets. This includes SP
and Iberdrola long-term Net Zero targets.
The successful candidate will support the Sustainability Manager in the monitoring, collation and evaluation
of sustainability data from across SPR portfolio of operational renewables projects and construction
projects. They will also have a responsibility to identify and drive forward initiatives with regards to
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reductions and circular economy across the SPR operational and
construction portfolio.

The appointed person will be required to:
• Review contractors sustainability performance and engage with construction contractors to
ensure compliance with contractual sustainability requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operational, construction, project and technical
service teams in SPR Onshore business to define approaches to quantify GHG emission and
circular economy data and provide evidence to meet reporting requirements of the business.
• Manage and analyse multiple environmental datasets relating to (including but not limited to)
water, electricity, f-gas and fuel including liaison with environmental advisors and operational
teams to make sure that data is up-to-date and resolve data anomalies.
• Support SPR gathering and analysis of data to input to Iberdrola annual sustainability reporting
and other related reporting.
• Manage and monitor progress by various stakeholders across the business in delivery of tasks
identified in the sustainability strategy.
• Support reporting of progress to SPR directors and business leaders and lead meetings where
required.

Understanding of a broad range of sustainability issues and developing strategies to implement
sustainable requirements
• Working knowledge of GHG emissions in accordance with GHG Protocol and application of these
in a business
• Working knowledge of the circular economy and application of circular economy approaches in a
business
• Experience of managing and reporting large data and collating, evaluating and manipulating
environmental data sets in excel
• Experience influencing stakeholders and quickly forming effective working relationships at all
levels, up to and including directors and external stakeholders
• Working cooperatively as part of a team as well as independently
• Communicating effectively with well-developed report writing and presentation skills
• Sound work planning with the ability to anticipate challenges and plan solutions
• Results oriented, with resilience to maintain momentum and achieve objectives

Current valid driving licence
• Computer Literacy (e.g. MS Office applications)
• Degree (or equivalent) in a sustainability discipline or relevant experience. A
Masters in a relevant sustainable development qualification is desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of GHG emissions and circular economy policy/legislation
• Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
• Ability to travel in the UK/Ireland
