Payroll Specialist/ Accountant; Belfast; 6 Month Contract; 37 hours per week; £32.75ph paye; Inside IR35.
We are looking for highly skilled Payroll Specialist with general ledger accounting expertise to join our client’s finance team in Belfast. This is a contract role for an initial period of 6 months, subject to review. The Payroll Specialist will report to the US GL Manager and will also work closely with the International GL Manager, AP/AR Senior Manager, and their teams., Hybrid working model is preferred for this role but our client will also consider someone to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger (GL) Activities:
Support GL activities related to the US payroll, processed twice a month.
Paid Time Off (PTO): Receive reports from Workday and use these to calculate the correct accrual each period.
Bonuses: Work closely with the HR team to ensure accurate amounts are accrued for bonuses.
Commissions: Collaborate with the Director of Commissions to receive timely commissions data and ensure accurate worldwide accruals.
Ad-Hoc Journal Entries: Assist GL team in posting other double entry journals as and when required.
Payroll Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations on payroll GL accounts.
Flux Analysis and Audit Support: Assist in providing meaningful flux analyses on payroll items both internally and to external auditors.
Payroll Forecasts: Prepare and review payroll forecasts for use in cash forecasting process.
International Payroll Support:
Assist with payroll activities for Imperva’s international entities during the transition to the company
Support payroll payments to international payroll providers
Additional Payroll Activities:
Collect and verify Workday data and payroll information.
Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Collaborate with various finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Qualifications:
UK payroll qualifications are helpful; accounting qualifications are also desirable.
Extensive experience in payroll management.
General ledger accounting experience and knowledge
Experience working with Workday.
Proficiency with NetSuite and Oracle is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
