Role Description

To provide competent and professional SHE guidance and support to the business across manufacturing, development and engineering operations
You will be responsible for providing competent and professional safety, health and environmental advice and support to our business operations, which typically comprise 300+ employees with diverse safety, health and environmental risks to manage.

This will involve the implementation and maintenance of the SHE Management System (Certified to ISO45001 and ISO14001) within your business operation, leading on risk assessment, accident/incident analysis and assurance activity, along with a wide variety of related tasks that fall within this diverse role.

You will also be an ambassador for cultural change within the business, able to influence and promote a positive SHE culture at all levels.

Whilst the role is challenging and wide-ranging, you will be part of a wider team of SHE professionals, and you can expect to be provided with a high level of support and development to ensure you are equipped to meet the challenges that the role provides.

The roles will be across both Warton & Samlesbury sites.

The role holder is responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety ensuring high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE) in our organisation are maintained. This includes co-operating and following all reasonable instruction, information and training reporting work-related hazards or incidents and using all equipment for the purpose intended. More detailed responsibilities are captured within the Company Health & Safety Policy (759/OF/016) and the Company Environmental Policy (759/OF/029).

The role holder is responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety, ensuring high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE) in our organisation are maintained, understood, implemented and followed by their team. This includes co-operating and following all reasonable instruction, information and training reporting work-related hazards or incidents, using all equipment for the purpose intended, setting high standards for SHE, leading by example and establishing the expectation that others do the same promoting risk awareness, ensuring that risks are assessed and adequately controlled, encouraging the team to report incidents and defects and make suggestions to improve SHE standards and ensuring actions to address SHE issues are prioritised and resourced appropriately. More detailed responsibilities are captured within the Company Health & Safety Policy (759/OF/016) and the Company Environmental Policy (759/OF/029).

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge: (Recommended max 5 bullets/statements)
Experience and qualifications in the Environment, Occupational Hygiene and COSHH would be advantageous
Good understanding of Hazard identification and risk management
Excellent communication skills and be comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels
Previous experience in a similar SHE role

The ability to work Autonomously
Good understanding of Hazard identification and risk management
A keen interest and understanding to develop in an environment in new technology

Qualifications:
Hold the NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health and will be working towards or possess the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent).

About the team you’ll be working in

The Technology & Future Capability SHE team consist approximately 25 she professionals

Provide competent SHE support, advice and resource to our manufacturing & Falcon Works® business areas.
Reporting to the Specialist Technologies SHE manager, it is made up of a group of SHE Associates & SHE Advisors (SHE) professionals or SHE Specialists).
The team support the implementation of various SHE management systems & provide specialist technical SHE support on exciting development products or platforms, and carry out various day to day activities related to safety, health and environment.
