Bid Coordinator
Morson currently have an exclusive vacancy with one of our Defence clients based in Templecombe to support bid work on important naval contracts. You would be expected to provide high volume, low complexity bids and quotations to a varied customer base in the UK and abroad. This business area generally supports spares, repairs and service offerings for electronic systems deployed on marine vessels around the world. We’re ideally looking for someone with bid experience to coordinate all bid input requirements through the estimating process to enable a confident cost base.
The role is currently being offered on a 4-month contract basis, with the possibility of it being extended beyond that. The role offers hybrid remote working with an expectation of 3 days a week on site in Templecombe, plus occasional travel to client sites which would be covered by expenses. The role is inside IR35 and at a fairly junior level so would be looking to pay less than £500 per day Umbrella.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all signed bids through established bids processes, reporting on progress at gate reviews.
- Manage multiple bids at any one time.
- Overall responsibility for the coordination and achievement of all bids to ensure timely responses to customers.
- Ensure the successful build-up of key material and labour estimates, capture all assumptions, risks, and other factors relevant to the bid.
- Prepare and build financial parameters through the price and cash sheets.
- Engage and provide progress updates to both internal and external customers
- Help embed a strong sense of delivery accountability and a proactive risk and opportunity management culture
Skills Requirements:
- Bid management or coordination experience in an engineering environment.
- A good understanding of financial perimeters, labour and material estimating.
- Able to work inside a high-volume bid environment.
- Able to coordinate activities and present output appropriately via project reporting.
- Good interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to tailor communication to internal and external stakeholders of varying levels.
- Understanding of bids, projects, work package estimates, financial parameters, risk and opportunity management.
Desired Skills
- A proven record for delivering bids against tight deadlines.
- Experience coordinating across multiple functions.
- Knowledge of the gate bid lifecycle processes (Chorus 5.1 manage bid).
- Experience of leading a bid team to successfully deliver on time.
- Being able to read and tailor Chorus II Process to ensure the right level of governance.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
