Job Duties:
- To provide Engineering and Logistic support to the Maintenance team
- Assist with all logistic requirements and administration in support of the equipment, component, servicing and repair operations.
- Be responsible for ensuring their professional knowledge of stores accounting and Tool Control procedures and principles remain current.
- Responsible to the Hangar and Tool store supervisor for the control and management of Logistics, Material, Support and Tool Control elements as directed by the Logistics Supervisor.
- To hold authorisations to the minimum level required and as detailed in OP 1103, IAW individual Record of Engineering Authorisations (REA).
- Maintain technical currency and authorisation through the training program and reading disseminated information.
- Manning the Tool Store and issuing tools and support equipment IAW the requirements of MAM-P Operating Procedures. Ensuring that no controlled items are released from the tool store without the appropriate tally and signature being received. Seeking permission from the Aircraft / Engineering Controller before releasing tool store items to other units.
- Restrict and control access to the tool store at all times during their shift period, including the control of access to toolboxes controlled from but stored outside of the tool store.
- General activities as directed by the Issue Centre Custodian including regular inspections and maintenance of Hangar equipment, fittings and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Assist in the management of the Ground Support Equipment.
- Provide a full service to the WCM team in providing and maintaining tooling, tool outfits and TME (Test & Measuring Equipment) including the management of equipment through the Calibration Bay
- Provide a full service to the team in providing and maintaining tooling, tool outfits including the management of periodic Quality Assurance checks.
- Ensure that correct levels of POL and general supporting items of equipment are available to support 7 aircraft and ensure all batch numbers are monitored and recorded to ensure out of date items are not used during aircraft maintenance.
- Informing the Issue Centre Custodian of any loss of, or damage to any tools or equipment under control of the tool store.
- Assist the Issue Centre Supervisor in managing the Logistics Department by providing logistics support to the aircraft through control, and hastening when required, of stores in and out of the hangar, ensuring all documentation and audit trails for high value items are managed
- Liaise with the supply chain departments to ensure efficient communication and supply chain is maintained
- Promote and maintain correct stores procedures in accordance with the Defence Logistics Framework and standards as detailed in current regulations throughout. This include ensuring packaging of stores and equipment IAW MAMP and WMS OP’s for transit and unpacking/control of received stores.
- Issuing and control of consumables ensuring batch details are recorded
- Stores delivery and collection and use of mechanical handling equipment where appropriate.
- Monitor the return of unserviceable assets back through the stores ensuring a full audit trail is kept
- Assist in the control and maintenance of all applicable technical publications / CIETP for personnel in support of the Issue Centre Supervisor.
- Assist in the control, recording and incorporation of all amendments to technical publications and incorporation of amendments on receipt, ensuring all are brought to the attention of technical personnel.
- Assist with Aircraft Movements as a safety number when tasked by the Aircraft / Engineering Controller and or Ground Crew supervisor as required and in accordance with published Procedures and instructions.
- To carry out the drawing of building keys at the start of shift. Opening & securing of the Hangar and JFOC and the returning of keys to the Station Guardroom on a rota basis as directed by the Aircraft Controller.
