About the Manufacturing Engineering Lead
Acting principally under the direction of the Head of Manufacturing Engineering to work flexibly within the Manufacturing Engineering team, on assigned projects and activities.
The scope of the tasks will primarily comprise/ address the active support of operational activities of the production and assembly departments.
The role is to lead the manufacturing engineering team focusing on the manufacturing requirements to preserve the integrity of the product design intent by improvement of manufacturing/ assembly processes and capabilities for current and future products.
Liaison with other engineering team members, clients and other DBS functional teams during project work is an integral part of the role.
•
2 & 3D CAD usage at expert level, Solid Edge preferred. Create component and assembly drawings. Drawing and technical documentation checking. BOM and gear data generation and engineering change control processing
•
Technical liaison and problem solving with Production Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
•
Participation in DFMEA, PFMEA and CI activities.
Skills
Strong core design skills, competence in materials selection, gear rating (ideally, not essential at first appointment), shaft and bearing analysis, rotor dynamics, other drive system elements including structural components, couplings, lubrication systems, relevant instrumentation and control systems.

Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques
•
Good knowledge of materials and processing techniques
•
Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and design protocols (ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV for example)
•
Experienced in the application of Machinery Safety regulations and requirements.
•
SAP aware/user, in context of engineering design data specification
