Morson are looking for Time Served Sheet Metal Workers to join our prestigious defence client, BAE Systems, on both contract and permanent vacancies.
These roles would be based across their sites in Govan and Scotstoun
Shifts apply: Dayshift, Nights or Weekends - shift uplifts on offer
PAYE Rates:
- STD - £19.40 + holiday pay
- Nights/Weekend shift - £25.80 + holiday pay
Non local candidates will also receive an addition £8 per hour for the first 37 hours. Umbrella rates also available on request
What you’ll be doing:
- Manufacturing and installing ventilation furniture
- Using a range of hand tools
- Understanding of manufacturing and installation drawings
- Working to engineering standards, striving for quality right first time
Your skills and experiences:
- Time served and able to provide trade papers (formal apprenticeship)
- Clear understanding of SHE risks and procedures
- Must be comfortable in confined spaces and working at height
- Background in major construction / manufacturing environment
Successful candidates will required to pass a trade test prior to commencing in production. Candidates must be comfortable with the following in order to pass:
Could you do a square to round development with HVAC ducting? (marking out)
Could you do a fault-finding exercise with HVAC systems?
Could you do a fault-finding exercise with fabricated furniture?
There will be a 15-question paper exercise involving general metal fabrication and SMW processes.
Candidates will be required to gain security clearance before commencement on site, and so must be able to achieve this.
