Morson are going to be recruiting for Platers for BAE Systems for their 2025 demand, if you are going to be looking for a new opportunity in the new year this might be the role for you!

We will be recruiting for Platers for BAE Systems at their site in Govan. 

It is a 12 month contract with starts subject to security clearance and a trade test. it is a standard 37 hours a week with a possibilty of overtime.

What you will be doing!

- Interpreting enginering drawings

- Marking - off materials

- Plate perpetration using different methods

- Assembling of ships structures, shell, decks, bulkheads, frames and longitudinal.

Please note - you will be required to apply for a Disclosure Scotland during the security process. This has a charge of £25 so please do not apply until you have received an offer

Trade Test- this is completed over day 1:

• Multiple choice trade specific questions                                                                                                                                            
  • Fabrication of small test plate
  • You must pass this to continue your contract

From this you will go on to complete the below:

• 3 days WISE training, followed by 1-day abrasive wheel course and 1-day of safety onboarding- Which will be held at Govan on Friday at 7am Please remember to take your PPE with you (Unless this has already been provided by BAE) You will be fitted for a Face Mask; please note you must be clean shaven for this. Further details below.
• You will then sit a 5 day onboarding course.

Once this has been completed and passed, you will move into full production.
