Contract Planner x 4, Bridgwater (Inside IR35)

Job Purpose / Overview

As a member of the Planning Discipline within the Central Controls Teams, you will be working under the direction and leadership of the IPC Planning Manager. You will be responsible for managing the Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with Client processes, including the alignment of Level 4 (contract) schedules and the provision of time-related data and analysis. Additionally, you will support the IPC Planning Manager in leading central Planning activities for the Project and in developing Planning standards, policies, and strategies.

Principal Accountabilities
Team:
• Assist the IPC Planning Manager and/or PCM in implementing and maintaining Integrated Project Controls processes for Planning, including the production of monthly reports, by providing intelligent information and analysis
• Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls and Project Support Functions to achieve Project goals
• Maintain an awareness of schedule interfaces with other Programmes and their potential impact

Core Processes:
• Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6) with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), utilising approved construction techniques
• Update the Level 4 IWS to an agreed timeframe for monthly reporting
• Update the HPC Level 4 schedules to reflect work progress and performance within a timeframe defined by the Central Controls Team
• Ensure that contractor schedules are produced in accordance with HPC processes, aligning with the IWS forecast position
• Maintain daily and weekly work planning in 4D model
• Provide quality checks on the Scheduling data
• Identify, analyse, and provide solutions to time-related issues
• Coordinate and produce schedule reports on a defined reporting cycle
• Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysing schedule impact, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunity

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge & Skills
• Thorough understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques
• Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction methods and techniques in a UK context
• Ability to produce accurate, complete, and fully logic-linked construction plans
• Excellent working knowledge of P6
• High level of analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to extract, compare, and analyse data
• Proven ability to develop scenario (what if) schedules
• Demonstrated experience in issue identification, resolution, and mitigation
• Appropriate sustained experience over the project lifecycle
• General understanding of Project Controls and the link between Schedule, Cost, and Risk
• Knowledge of NEC (Preferred)

Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, or another related field
• Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role
• Experience using scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.

Key Competencies
The jobholder is expected to have a working level of knowledge of, and use, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools:

• Primavera P6 (Scheduling)
• Synchro (4D modelling)
• Acumen Fuse (Schedule Analysis)
• Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Teamcenter (Document Control).

Specific requirements
• Minimum 10 years MEH experience working on large scale infrastructure/industrial projects
• Qualification in Engineering (Preferred)
• Experience in CAD/4D planning (Preferred)
