EC&I Responsible Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for an EC&I RESPONSIBLE ENGINEER who will be based at our clients offices in Warrington, Cheshire.

About the Project:

The Calder Land Clearance project has been generated from a need by the adjacent SIXEP Project. The purpose of this project is to provide available land for a new SWM plant through demolition and remediation of Turbine Hall ‘A’ with its associated buildings on the Calder Hall Estate.
Due to the nature of the waste and its management, no further land is currently available to site SWM without the need to remediate and demolish existing assets on identified land on the Calder Hall Estate.
The Calder Land Clearance Project involves the site investigation, characterisation and safe demolition of superstructures associated with:
F3 Calder Turbine Hall A,
F4 Calder Administration Building,
F9 Control Rod Workshop,
F19 Maintenance Workshop and
F77 Welding and Fabrication Workshop.

About the Role:

The individual will provide design oversight of CE&I design work to be undertaken within the CLC Project and will work with the Beta / Gamma CE&I Responsible Engineer to ensure that individual work packages are appropriately managed and executed.

Minimum Academic Qualification: HNC
Minimum Professions Qualification: IEng

Minimum requirement:

One year within the previous three years working in roles where knowledge of engineering was a key attribute. In addition, the last year will have been working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles where professional engineering judgement was the key attribute.

Essential Experience:
Estimate & schedule production and progress reporting.
Lightning Protection/Earthing
Decommissioning / Demolition
Plant Configuration Management / Change Control
Electrical Services and Infrastructure
Understand the deliverables of each CE&I areas including Safety Systems, Environmental Monitoring, Security, Electrical Power and Lighting, Fire Systems and other Services Instrumentations as a minimum.

Preferred Academic Qualification: MEng.
Preferred Professions Qualification: CEng

Preferred requirement:

Minimum requirement plus three years within the last five years in Engineering Design.

Desirable Knowledge/Experience:

Cyber Security
Physical Security
CE&I Safety Systems e.g. ES_1_2190 and BS EN 13849
Fire Alarms and Lighting
Radiometric Environmental Monitoring

Security Clearance Requirement: BPSS with ability to achieve SC clearance

Collaboration with the CLC Project team and the supply chain is a key part of the role and will require regular attendance at the Sellafield site and local area.
