EC&I Responsible Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for an EC&I RESPONSIBLE ENGINEER to be based in our clients offices in Warrington, Cheshire.

About the Project:

The Windscale Piles were built in the 1940s by the Ministry of Defence to produced material for the UK weapons programme. Both reactors were closed down following a fire in Pile 1 in 1957. Pile 2 was de-fuelled but, as a result of damage caused by the fire, and attempts to clear the reactor channels, some inventory remains in Pile 1. A sequence of prioritised decommissioning tasks has now been commenced that will see the demolition and ultimate remediation of the Complex completed over the coming decades.

The B6 SPIDA platform is a purpose designed and built structure to aid the controlled demolition of the B6 Barrel (chimney) on the Sellafield site.
