We have an exciting new opportunity for a SENIOR EC&I ENGINEER to be based at our clients premises in Warrington, Cheshire. Candidates based in Cumbria will also be considered.
About the Role:
Decommissioning Encapsulation Plant (DEP) project has a requirement for a Senior EC&I Engineer. DEP project involves the design, construction and commissioning of a facility that will have the capability for encapsulating Contact Handleable Intermediate Level Waste (CHILW) within Decommissioning CHILW CONTAINER (DCC).
The Senior EC&I Engineer will be responsible for producing design deliverables for Appraise and Select stage through to Define stage and will provide support to Deliver and Operate stages of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of either BTEC, HNC or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with extensive experience in design delivery.
Delivering EC&I design package - translating user requirements and technical specification into fully engineered, safe and legal design solutions.
Experience of Programmable Electronic Systems, Safety in Design, Machinery & Functional Safety and Cybersecurity Risk Assessment.
Demonstrable understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment in which Sellafield operates.
Determining Engineering Requirements and providing underpinning for validation and verification.
Engaging other disciplines and stakeholders at key lifecycle points, including an awareness of basic project management fundamentals.
Providing clear, confident presentation of relevant deliverables to all stakeholders attending Single and Multi-discipline design reviews as required by the integrated assurance plan.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified in appropriate discipline.
City & Guildes 2382 - Understand the Requirements of Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (2022)
Professional registration with a relevant institute (i.e. IET, IoP, InstMC).
Experience of Machine Safety (including BS EN 60204 and BS EN 13849) and Functional Safety (BS EN 61508 and BS EN 61511).
Demonstrable experience in the design and implementation of waste management and encapsulation.
