Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager
Location: England, South East England, Kent

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Engineering, (Electrical Power Networks)

Job Purpose

To project manage a portfolio the clients projects. Although the role will be based in Chatham, Kent, the projects could be across various locations across the South East. Ensuring successful pre and post contract management of all projects on time, budget and safely to exceed the customer expectations. To complete project management efficiently through the full life cycle of the project from initial enquiry through to post investment appraisal in line with the clients governance and control process.

Key Competencies

Programme management of a portfolio of projects to a high level of safety and quality
To manage client project requirements and exceed in client delivery expectations
Manage all projects throughout their lifecycle from enquiry, through tender/quotation and on to completion in line with project processes
Liaison with all disciplines within the Services team to ensure a consistent and appropriate strategy to deliver a successful project and exceed client expectation
Manage the financial control of projects, ensuring the timely delivery of planned works and profit margins
Ensure design and construction compliance in accordance with CDM regulation and to quality standards
Management of NRSWA / street works contractors
Effectively manage workload. Take full responsibility and ownership of the success and quality of projects
A can do and customer friendly attitude is important
An understanding of the HV and LV networks (11kV to 132KV) and civils groundworks would be advantageous

Knowledge, Skills, Eduacation and Experience:
Understanding of NRSWA / Street Works (essential)
Electrical Engineering (to HNC or similar) is the preferred requirement however, applications from candidates with a lesser qualification and a strong record of accomplishment in the installation of electrical distribution infrastructures (construction) would be welcomed.
PRINCE2 or APM (PMQ) (essential)
A good understanding and use of Microsoft Office packages Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. (essential)
Experience of Primavera planning package (desirable)
Previous experience on TFL or Network Rail projects (desirable)
NEBOSH Certificate in construction. (desirable)
IOSH Putting People to works (desirable)
Applicants must be able to achieve any project related Security Clearance. (essential)
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Working Conditions:
This role is based in Kent, with occasional travel to project sites within the South East England region
Regular office hours with flexibility required to meet project deadlines
Collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams
