The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Solutions team, supporting EDF Energy Nuclear Operations across their UK nuclear fleet. This pivotal role will see you embedded within a client-led team at Hinkley Point B Power Station, where you’ll work closely with the client’s Project Manager and Programme Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture within project teams, encouraging continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSE Management System and HSE Performance Standards, providing recommendations for improvements.
Although you will report to our Operations Manager, your accountability for project delivery will be directly to the client.
Travel to other UK sites may be required, but the primary location for this role will be Hinkley Point B Power Station.
Collaborate with a team of professionals, all with experience in regulated environments emphasizing high safety standards.

Qualifications:

HNC in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
Current knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, Construction Certificate, or NVQ Level 3.
Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is desirable.
IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
Operational knowledge of current HSE legislation relevant to project work.
Proven communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Experience as a HSE Professional in a project context, particularly in highly regulated operational environments, including contractor management and accident investigation.
