Electrical Engineer

And right now, we’re looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer. Based at our Capenhurst location, you’ll provide functional structured Electrical Engineering support to the CE&I Engineering Manager in respect to spares management for electrical distribution & plant switchgear and equipment such as motors building services equipment. Additionally, you will help facilitate and drive EIMT strategies on the HV & LV Distribution system & Plant equipment. You will also support switching activities for the EIMT task work and provide appropriate RAMS. Finally, you will manage work teams acting as either, the authorizing person, or the Person in charge for complex isolations (Dual Source supplies) and task work. Carry out fault finding and remedial work on all levels of the HV & LV equipment hierarchy.

What will your day look like?

  • Achieve AP status to perform complex isolations / author and review switching programs and support all Electrical Distribution switching activities
  • Contribute to the implementation of standards, procedures and systems of work to maintain plant integrity. Complete compliance inspections and tests to procedure and plan
  • Develop an Electrical equipment spares list, liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes and convert to material master specifications.
  • Identify and direct opportunities to improve plant OEE and reduce costs through equipment or maintenance plan development
  • Support the CE&I Engineering Manager in the writing and review of written Schemes of Maintenance (WSM’s) to support the EIMT program
  • Support the development of an electrical periodic inspection and testing program

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship within the respective discipline, together with HNC / NVQ (Level3) and/or City and Guilds qualification.
  • Degree qualified Electronic/Electrical/Control Engineer with practical experience of all types of Electrical installations.
  • Minimum of 8 Year experience in the Chemical or Nuclear process Industry
  • Sound knowledge of electrical installations for HV & LV Distribution to process plant equipment, battery systems and building services small power and lighting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the different standards that apply to safely operating and maintaining switchgear and electrical equipment and systems
  • Sound knowledge of the CMMS (SAP) to assist the development of the working system to suitably manage the Electrical infrastructure Hierarchy, spares, where used; material master’s etc.
