And right now, we’re looking for a Logistics Manager. Based at our Capenhurst site, you’ll To manage delivery by developing, and implementing the Site Service model for the Logistics portfolio in a safe, compliant, and reliable manner—across Enrichment, Chemical Processing, Decommissioning & Waste, and Group Projects. This is inclusive of people/culture, processes, and systems/plants. What will your day look like?

Ensure safe and compliant delivery of the Logistics Services. Post will have the following nuclear baseline roles and the accountability/responsibility that comes with the roles:
• B105 Line Manager (Control and Supervision)
• B160 Safety Case Owner (Deputy)
• B302 Process Owner (Logistics Processes)
Process Owner for License Condition:
• LC4 - Restrictions on Nuclear Matter on the Site
• LC5 - Consignment of Nuclear Matter
Deputy Safety Case Owner of UF6 Storage & Movements

Develop an aligned and integrated approach, framework and operating model on how Logistics Services are planned, prioritised, co-ordinated and delivered across the Capenhurst site (key activities described below).
Develop and implement a framework along with the management systems/arrangements and systems required.
Manage the Logistics team, working in a matrix approach across the Capenhurst Site. Lead by providing clear direction and alignment to deliver against objectives to support operations and activities on site.
Manage the team by flexing capacity to meet demand and with appropriate resourcing strategies (e.g. make versus buy approach) to ensure core capability and capacity is maintained.
Define the requirement of the Training and Qualification Program as applicable to the Logistics workforce (employees, agency workers, & contractors).
Ensure the culture & behaviours within the team align with that of the wider Capenhurst to create an engaged workforce and an improved worker experience.
Member of the Operational Services Management Team and are expected to share ideas and improve the ways of working and the working environment.
Collaborative working cross functionally across the wider team and various Business Centres/Group Projects will be essential to safe, compliant, and reliable delivery of the Operational Services objectives.
Ensure proactive engagement and utilise consultative decision making related to the delivery of the Logistics services.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal site performance

Critical tasks/activities/deliverables
• Compliance and safety to ensure business compliance to global transport, customs and licensing regulation
• Uranium Accounting to account for and monitor all Uranic material throughout it’s life cycle in accordance with NSR 19
• Material Movements including the receipt, storage, movement, distribution and despatch of physical materials on site
• Material scheduling and planning includes creating plans and schedules for the movement of materials based on production needs and operational requirements
• Transport scheduling and planning includes organising and coordinating movement of materials, equipment and resources on and off site in accordance with transport regulations and liaising with external partners
Key interfaces include working aligned and collaboratively with Commercial, Government Affairs, and other UTD/Group functions as required. As well as external stakeholders like Government Agencies and the Regulator.

Define KPIs and performance metrics both for delivery as well as system/process health across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) to inform data based decision making

Accountable for the management and performance against the Logistics budget. Prepare, manage, and update all funding requests within the appropriate process (e.g. opex or capex).
Ensure with the support of Procurement, HR, and other support functions a strategic resourcing strategy for the business as usual operations and investment portfolio.

What do you need to be great at this role?

• Qualified to a degree level ideally in a science/mathematical based discipline with a relevant professional qualification and/or substantial relevant experience.
• Demonstrable strong leadership skills that will inspire commitment and enthusiasm from within team, as well as from colleagues more broadly.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, motivational, and interpersonal skills in order to encourage, develop and facilitate team working.
• Ability to plan work in the medium term and take a strategic outlook, both departmentally and Company wide, with a good understanding of overall Urenco Group business.
• The ability to manage the performance of both internal and external
• service providers to ensure that mutually agreed standards, targets and general expectations are met.
• Excellent understanding of Urenco Group operations, typically gained through several years of experience.
• A good appreciation of the UF6 enrichment market, together with an understanding of transporting, handling and processing both natural and enriched UF6.
• A thorough knowledge of the regulations governing Safeguarding strategic nuclear materials, transporting radioactive materials, export and customs control to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
