Health and Safety Engineer

About the Role

Join our Nuclear Power Engineering & Technical Solutions  team, delivering cutting-edge solutions across the nuclear lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Engineer to support Energy Nuclear Generation’s operations across the UK.

This role involves leading health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives within project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with high safety standards. You’ll monitor HSE systems, identify opportunities for enhancement, and collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSE leadership within project teams and promote best practices.
  • Monitor and report on HSE management systems and performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and champion continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with contractors, clients, and team members to maintain high standards.
  • Manage contractors effectively and conduct thorough accident investigations.
  • Support project delivery while maintaining a results-driven, team-focused approach.

About You:

  • Qualifications: HNC in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent; NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or NVQ Level 3; knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Desirable: Membership in IOSH; IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Experience: Proven expertise as an HSE professional in highly regulated, operational environments.
  • Skilled in contractor management, accident investigations, and fostering safety culture.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to build effective networks.
