Sub-Agent - Nights
Location: West Ruislip Portal Site, Ickenham High Rd, London HA47DQ
Job Introduction
SCS Railways are looking for a Sub Agent to manage and lead weekday night shifts (Monday night to Friday night) for the reinforced concrete works at West Ruislip Portal.
Delivery of the WRP FRC works during night shifts, manage resources and providing supervision, advice and guidance to the members of the Construction teams and Sub-Contractors.
Ensure the progress of the works are in accordance with the contract, programme, budget and design requirements.
Implement and assure compliance with all relevant High Speed 2 and or statutory requirements with regards to Health, Safety, Environment and Public relations within their scope of work.
Manage QA within section of works, including compilation of handover packs and gaining client approval.
Role Responsibility
•Manage, supervise, train and mentor the night site team.
•Review contractual agreements and develop detailed site-specific programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, taking action where appropriate, and reporting any changes to Asset Lead and QS department.
•Requisitioning resources in a timely manner to ensure that they are correctly specified and readily available so as not to impede the construction programme.
•Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are being implemented and adhered to.
•Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
•Implement the relevant requirements of the Safety Management System within their area of responsibility.
•Ensure that the Construction Team, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers receive or have access to copies of the relevant Health and Safety as well as Environmental Policy and are kept informed of relevant developments and issues.
•Internal liaison with the Asset Lead, Design and Engineering Team, QA team and Cost Control.
•External liaison with High Speed 2, Subcontractors / Suppliers and Stakeholders, close co-ordination with the Construction Manager required.
•Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the companys operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.
•Design field change management - offer design change solutions for acceptance of the project’s designer.
•Review and understand the requirement for Temporary works in your section of works. Ensure Briefs and design are produced to meet construction schedule.
•Review drawings, 3D model and specifications to ensure an understanding of the scope so you can identify changes.
•Ensuring all quality checks are carried out in accordance with the ITP’s and properly recorded.
•The management of non-conformance reporting and managing the nonconformances on site until complete.
•Communicate to the Quality Assurance and Quantity Surveyors teams non-conformances.
•Ensure Subcontractor design’s meets requirements for your section of works. Manage subcontractors to ensure they are for filling contractual obligations and delivering the Site works information in line with the contract programme.
•Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with Subcontractor/ client / designer / RE / project team.
•Manage Construction/Technical assurance for section of works in line with SCS procedure - production and management of inspection and test plan record packs, redline drawings, as built records and reports, acceptance of Design construction and verification certificate.
•Adherence to project policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
•Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
•Understanding of Engineering Principles.
•Experience with formwork reinforced concrete works.
•Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing and best practice.
•Knowledge and understanding of working to and implementing construction contracts.
•Capable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the project.
•Temporary Works Supervisor/Co-ordinator experience.
•Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, AutoCAD, Aphex).
•Relevant CSCS Card
•Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
•Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication style to suite receiver.
