What’s the role?

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of vital port equipment. Working closely with the Engineering team, you’ll:

  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and corrective tasks on Gantry Cranes (STS and CRMGs) and associated equipment.

  • Take on tasks like setting up hoist ropes, measuring brakes, stripping gearboxes, and working on hydraulic circuits.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and engineers to deliver seamless service across the port estate.

This position follows a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour day shift pattern, allowing for a balance of work and personal time.

What will you bring?

We’re looking for an engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a proactive approach, as well as:

  • A HNC in Mechatronics or equivalent qualifications in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Solid experience in diagnosing and repairing PLCs, motors, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ABB systems and effective maintenance strategies like RCM, PM, CBM, and TPM.
  • Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, or dusty environments.
  • An understanding of permit-to-work systems and a commitment to safety.
