Utilities Construction Manager

Job Title: Utilities Construction Manager

Location: Greatworth to Southam Area
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Type: Full-time, Permanent position

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high-profile infrastructure project as a Utilities Construction Manager. You will oversee the delivery of Contestable Utility Diversions and Connections within a designated area, ensuring compliance with time, quality, and budget requirements. This role offers the chance to work on one of the UK’s flagship civil engineering projects, contributing to its successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of all Contestable Utility Diversions and Connections for your geographical area.
  • Work closely with designers, statutory undertakers, and construction teams to ensure fully coordinated utility proposals.
  • Support the Utilities Process Coordinator in delivering NRSWA C4–C9 processes and complying with HS2 requirements.
  • Produce routine progress reports and lead key meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Notify supply chain partners and statutory undertakers as per programme requirements.
  • Identify early warnings and risks, mitigating issues while enabling the realization of opportunities.
  • Capture and distribute As-Built information according to information management protocols.
  • Collaborate with Utilities Project Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure successful completion and handover of Contestable Utility works.
  • Promote and integrate best safety practices across all utilities work.
  • Actively support and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering utility projects with statutory undertakers in power, water, gas, fuel, or telecoms sectors.
  • Knowledge of:
    • New Road Street Works Act (NRSWA)
    • HS2 Act, Assurance & PPAs
    • Utility Regulations for design, construction, and connection works
    • CDM Principal Designer role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • Mandatory:
    • CSCS Card (Black, White, White/Yellow, Yellow, or Red Experienced)
    • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
