Lead Installation Engineer

Main Purpose of Job:

The Lead Installation Manager shall be part of the Installation Team within Scottish Power Renewables
offshore wind business assigned the EA2 Project. The role shall require direct interaction with the, the
project team, department management, the project functions (risk management, planning, HSE, Quality,
Consents, Marine Warranty), and the engineering department and the marine services team.
The role shall require external relationship to be established and maintained with the Foundation
Transportation & Installation Contractor, the marine warranty surveyor, the certified verification agent and
external consultant.

Key Tasks:

Development and implementation of the installation engineering plan and for the development of the
conceptual design and methodology for the Transport and Installation of the Offshore Foundations
(Mono Piles, Transition Pieces and Anode Cages that shall be incorporated into the overall installation
strategy.
• Development and upkeep of a base case construction programme for the work package.
• Development of the Employer’s Technical Requirements for T&I and for the technical evaluation of
bids.
• Management of Contractor’s early and detailed engineering works and for the review and acceptance
by MWS of Contractor’s engineering and procedures for the Transport and Installation of the Offshore
Substations structures.
• Management and supervision of the Contractor’s offshore works.
• As-built reporting and final acceptance of the completed Works.
• Management of handover process to the Operation and Maintenance team.

Key Criteria:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in offshore wind or subsea discipline, with 3 years’ experience as senior
installation engineer level or equivalent.
Proven track record of safely managing the execution of complex offshore works in hazardous marine
environments.
Demonstrable experiences in:
o Understanding and application of all relevant DNV and IMCA standards/
recommendations
o installation engineering design.
o production of specification and tender documents.
o contracts (/subcontracts) negotiations (technical aspects).
o construction planning.
o budgetary estimations.

Key Interfaces
Reports to the Package Manager within the project organisation with a functional reporting line to the
Principal Installation Manager (corporate discipline lead).
