Our client Scottish Power are looking for a Warehouse Operator to join their team in Renfrew.
It is a contract role inside IR35 approved initially (likely to be extended).
Working within the SCOTTISHPOWER Renewables (SPR) Operation & Maintenance Services, Supply Chain and Logistics Team. Have responsibility Managing stock within the Warehouse facilities and operational sites stores.
• Operation of new warehousing and logistical functions and facilities across SPRs’ windfarm portfolio.
• Carry out routine work and associated plans for Logistics Co-ordinators and Contractors’ activities.
• Work with other SPR Warehouse personnel to provide an operational
• Operate existing physical warehouse locations and as the portfolio expands replicate the process across all warehouse locations.
• Work within SPR and statutory Health, Safety and Environmental policies in relation to warehousing and logistics.
• Use Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work streams within the Warehouse facilities.
• Reviewing and auditing the effectiveness of warehousing and logistical systems and processes across operational sites and central warehouse facilities and reporting findings to relevant managers across O&M/ O&MS.
• Physical movement and transportation of goods and materials.
• Reporting processes in relation to stock control and logistical movements.
• Management of warehouse stock replenishment processes and subsequent stock optimisation, using min/max limits and parts ordering frameworks through SAP
• Work with Service Co-ordinator functions and others who directly impact on logistical processes.
• Ensuring that strategic spare parts and major components are properly stored and managed, in line with technical dept instructions.
• Input to the development and lead the implementation of warehousing and logistics management within the central warehouse location and local site facilities for a proportion of the operational portfolio. Facilitate the expansion of this model across the entire SPR portfolio.
• Authorising and managing despatch of ~100 major component movements annually.
• Creation and integration to the management system of multiple policies or procedures for logistics activities.
• Have a working knowledge, implementing new warehousing and logistical systems, processes, and concepts.
• Have a good understanding procurement and financial systems relating to management of warehouse and logistical processes.
• Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety process management with ability to review and update RAMS.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have experience of auditing warehousing and logistical facilities and processes.
• High degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work with the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
• Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as a minimum.
• Must have experience of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Experience driving forklifts of up to 8 tonnes and competent slinger/banksmen and use of overhead crane or similar
• Plan and organise maintenance warehousing and logistical activities, including liaising with non-UK based suppliers.
• Have autonomy for defining and planning personal workload priorities and adjusting these accordingly considering emergent priorities.
• Attend training and development activities which will enhance the performance of those involved in warehouse and logistical processes.
• Perform external benchmarking in relation to warehousing and logistical processes
• Report directly the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager and work on daily tasks with Warehouse Supervisor
• Work with the wider Planning and Logistics Team, O&M and O&M Services in relation to delivery of strategic and personal objectives.
• Provide warehousing and logistical related reports and information to the wider SPR business and to Iberdrola to assist with parts and logistical strategy development.
• Work closely with Logistics Co-ordinators to ensure management processes and procedures are successfully executed.
• Maintain a network of industry contacts to monitor emerging technologies, initiatives and contracting specialists to support delivery of warehousing strategy.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager in development and implementation of business improvements and I.T system improvements in relation to warehousing and logistics.
• Work with suppliers, contractors and internal staff to ensure logistical services are fulfilled to support successful delivery of business targets and global KPIs.
• Be able to demonstrate experience of having established warehousing and logistical systems and processes.
• Be able to demonstrate experience of use of overhead crane and forklift use & hold appropriate certification
• Experience of operation of a warehousing/logistical environment.
• Full UK driving license and valid UK passport.
