Client:
My client is an industry-leading technology developer which provides platforms to bring operations and data together to improve efficiencies across construction, operations and maintenance for Offshore Wind Farm making it simpler and safer to build and manage to increase revenue.
Due to increased demand and workflow, they are now looking to hire a Business Development Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of complex software sales as well as some exposure to the clean energy sector. The candidate will also have a strong motivation to contribute towards society’s response to accelerating climate change.

The role presents the opportunity to work across the senior team to develop our customer proposition and commercial strategy to deliver value creation for the business and outstanding satisfaction for the customer

Although the role is primarily focused on new business acquisition you will also play a role in the development of existing customer accounts.

What you’ll do

  • Develop a deep understanding of both the customers and competitive landscape, enabling a business dialogue to be conducted with C-level contacts and their teams.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities through outbound activities.
  • Identify cross/upsell opportunities within existing clients.
  • Deliver excellent in person and remote pitches including high-level software demonstrations.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across different disciplines and coordinate cross-functional initiatives to meet customer needs.
  • Craft client proposals, including responses to bids/tenders.
  • Proactively lead business lead generation activities such as participating in industry events, workshops.

What you’ll need

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a software sales lead delivering complex “enterprise level’ solutions ideally in the financial services or renewable energy industry.
  • An appreciation of the process of software design, development and delivery.
  • Experience leading pitches / presentations to a very high standard and attention to detail.
  • Experience of developing bids and proposals (RFI, RFP’s).
