Job Title: External Scheduler

Type: 12month contract (start on 02/12/24)

Job Summary:
Morson is currently recruiting on behlaf of our Aerospace manufacturing client in Burnley for an external scheduler position. The External Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining a short-term supply plan that aligns with the Master Production Schedule (MPS), customer orders, and stock policy targets. This role ensures the feasibility of the supply plan through detailed capacity planning, resolving imbalances, and fostering collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define supply parameters in the ERP system aligned with industrial strategy and stock targets.
  • Participate in MRP validation processes, analyzing and resolving exception messages (e.g., increase, decrease, progress, delays, cancellations).
  • Confirm and communicate requirements and changes derived from MRP with suppliers, ensuring all necessary updates are implemented.
  • Issue and follow up on purchase orders and scheduling agreements in line with ERP recommendations.
  • Negotiate deadlines and quantities with suppliers within the framework of purchasing policies (excludes pricing).
  • Provide internal visibility and insights to the Manufacturing Area (e.g., grab list) and offer solutions to manage imbalances.
  • Analyze supplier performance data and share insights with Supplier Performance Managers (SPM) and suppliers for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
  • Measure, monitor, and report supplier performance on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Monitor and reduce the risks of obsolescence, manage logistics guidelines, and ensure efficient transport management.
  • Establish and implement action plans for managing technical modifications or changes in supplier scope.
  • Manage raw materials and inventory effectively with suppliers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in:

    • Quality control rooms and QRQC.
    • Supplier scheduling for critical materials and components.
    • Stock takes, audits, and obsolescence management.
    • Projects to improve delivery performance and optimize transport management.
  • Maintain compliance with logistics guidelines and support supplier documentation and requests.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and capacity planning tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with MRP processes and supplier performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in the use of Air Supply Portal and SAP.
