Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in Configuration Management? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our Aircraft Manufacturing Client in Filton on a 12-month contract. If you have a strong background in aerospace, SAP knowledge, and a passion for process excellence, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the programme Change Management process, ensuring all changes are tracked, monitored, and incorporated into baselines per customer requirements.
Coordinate interactions between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and program management to ensure changes are documented and approved.
Maintain and release configuration baselines and records in a timely manner.
Collate and review change impact assessments in preparation for internal/customer Change Control Boards (CCBs).
Manage Change Implementation Boards (CIB) and Change Control Boards (CCBs), including the creation of Change Paperwork.
Ensure compliance with customer Configuration Management (CM) Plans and flow-down of CM requirements to suppliers.
Support Configuration and Data Management tasks, including the administration of internal and external databases.
Assist with modification planning and Condition of Supply (COS) creation.
Validate that change documentation is clear, concise, and correctly executed.
Apply Lean tools to business processes, including Visual Management, Scorecards, and Root Cause Analysis.
Conduct periodic CM audits (PCA) and Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) activities per programme requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
SAP knowledge and experience.
HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Aerospace with industry experience.
Understanding of ISO10007 and AS9100 standards.
Experience with applied Configuration Management in an aerospace environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and Product Data Management (PDM) applications (Windchill preferred).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience with product change management in complex organizations.
Ability to comply with Export Control and ITAR requirements.
Working knowledge of SAP, Windchill, and database packages.
Experience with CAD Interrogation (CATIA V5 and V6).
Document management experience.
Strong problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
Excellent customer service and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable:
Engineering Master’s Degree.
CMII Accredited (Comprehensive Level) or actively working towards it.
Knowledge of the Configuration Management model (CMII).
Understanding of DOA / POA (EASA Part 21 Sub-part J & G).
Project management experience.
Export Classification Engineer Certification (ECE).
