Overview
As a Human Factors Specialist supporting the TRINITY programme, you will report to the Lead HFI Specialist and assist them in delivering User-Centred Design activities. This could include: assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf equipment against system requirements / user needs; engaging with users to understand their goals and tasks; conducting detailed analyses to understand cognitive workload and human error; anthropometric assessment and workspace/workstation design; working with other engineering functions and disciplines to support their tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support Vigilant lead HFI specialist in the conduct of human factors activities and integration of HF into the TRINITY design
- Work with end user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities
- Conduct analyses such as allocation of function, task analysis and usability assessment
- Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions
- Produce reports and input to customer deliverables.
Skillset required
- A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics or Psychology
- Registered membership of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors (or eligibility for CIEHF Chartership via an equivalent body)
- At least five years’ proven ability of applying Human Factors methods in defence or safety-critical industry
- Proven ability of working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects
