Project Manager - Secure Communications

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team with our prestigious client at their site in Portsmouth this nis a hybrid role 3 days per week on-site.

Overview of the role:

We are looking for Project Managers with proven project management experience, excellent leadership and communication skills to join our, Connected Intelligence, Secure Communications Project Management Team.

The successful applicants will lead the delivery phase of complex military satellite communications projects and provide project initiation and planning expertise in the associated business winning campaigns.

Airbus standards adopt the lifecycle guidance recommended by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

- Project Initiation
- Project Planning
- Project Execution
- Project Monitoring Controlling, Closing of projects
- Delivering complex secure communications infrastructure and services.
- Managing projects in accordance with the Airbus project lifecycle standards & accountable for the quality, cost and schedule performance of the project

Skillset & Experience

Essential -

A good understanding of the PMI Project Management body of knowledge.
A basic understanding of AGILE project management.
Solid experience in a similar role of approving initial briefs/baselines, delivering projects and supporting bids in an engineering environment. Ideally, this will be the communications, aerospace, space or defence industries

Desirable -

A degree or equivalent in project management, business management, or a relevant engineering discipline.
A good technical background to support your project management role
STEM degree or equivalent
PMI/PMP certification

Recognising the restricted nature of the work  there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
