Quality Engineer

We are currently hiring for a Quality Engineer role with a leading global provider of high-performance mechanical power transmission solutions. About the Role:
As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with the Lead Quality Engineer and cross-functional teams, supporting integrated project teams (IPTs) to maintain product quality, compliance, and process governance. This role is key in driving right-first-time (RFT) delivery, resolving quality issues, and improving manufacturing and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and govern ISO 9001:2015 management systems, conducting audits and ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using industry-standard tools (8D, A3, DMAIC, 5 WHY, Ishikawa).
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and third-party auditors to verify and deliver quality standards.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to assess adherence to contractual and industry regulations.
- Review and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, certificates of conformity, and first article inspection reports (FAIR).
- Support non-conformance investigations, manage Supplier Defect Reports (SDRs), and oversee corrective actions.
- Provide dimensional analysis and validation inspections using various measurement systems and techniques.
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing quality processes and resolving long-standing issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate key quality performance reports, including cost of poor quality (COPQ) and process governance metrics (Pareto, histograms).
- Engage in regular meetings, offering quality insights and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

- Apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and other industry standards (AQAP, DEFSTAN, Lloyd’s Rules for Naval Ships).
- Internal auditing certification to ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with manufactured components such as gears, shafts, bearings, and gearboxes.
- Proficiency in engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and high-precision measurement techniques.
- Experience in structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 WHY, Ishikawa, DMAIC).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP (or similar ERP systems).
