Payroll Administrator – Competitive Salary (£28,000k -£30,000k)

About the Role:
As Payroll Administrator, you will manage the full end-to-end payroll process and ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will be instrumental in streamlining payroll operations, ensuring compliance, and resolving payroll-related queries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and process information from the Time & Attendance system to ensure the timely production of both weekly and monthly payroll, including BACS payments.
• Collaborate with depot service administrators to resolve any discrepancies and handle wage-related queries.
• Ensure accurate input of department hours, shift allowances, overtime, and other payroll-related elements in line with current pay conditions.
• Review and distribute payslips, ensuring accuracy of hours worked and rates applied.
• Process RTI submissions via the Government Gateway Programme.
• Handle pension Auto Enrolment and necessary company pension documentation.
• Calculate and process statutory payments, including SSP, SPP, SMP, and statutory deductions (AEO, CSA, loans, etc.).
• Assist with year-end payroll processes, including P60 production, P11D, PSA, and Gender Pay reporting.
• Liaise with HMRC for payroll-related matters.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in a payroll role is essential.
• Proficiency with Sage 50 Payroll and Sage P11d; strong knowledge of payroll legislation including Working Time, Pensions, Auto Enrolment, and statutory deductions.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive approach to handling high volumes of data accurately and on time.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a positive and approachable manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office packages.
• A flexible, confident, and professional attitude with a drive to continuously improve.
• Full UK driving license.
