Highways Supervisor/Foreman

Location: Doncaster

Duration: 12 weeks - potential of extension

Rates: £300.00 - £340.00 per shift CIS

Start date: ASAP (1 week notice)

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Highways Supervisor to oversee and manage road and highway projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in highway construction and maintenance, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. As a Highways Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising site operations, liaising with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing site inductions, conducting regular briefings, and ensuring adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Additionally, you will work closely with local authorities and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.

Skills:

• Extensive experience in the highways industry
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of network operations on high-speed roads
• Competency in preparing and adhering to Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Familiarity with asset management principles
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and organizational capabilities

Software/Tools:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Certifications & Standards:

• CSCS (minimum Supervisor level)
• SSSTS
• SMSTS (preferred)
• First Aid Certification
