Highways Site Foreman

Location: Penrith

Duration: 8-10 months

Rates: £340.00 per night shift CIS + accomodation if needed

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Highways Site Foreman to oversee the construction and maintenance of highways, roads, and bridges. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and liaising with subcontractors and team members to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the construction process, addressing any on-site issues, and maintaining clear communication with project stakeholders. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering, with particular expertise in highway projects.

Skills:

1. Highways and civil engineering experience
2. Strong leadership and team management abilities
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to read and interpret site plans and specifications
5. Proficient in organising labour, plant, and materials
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
7. Experience in monitoring site safety and compliance
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
9. Competent in conducting quality inspections
10. Familiarity with construction project management

Software/Tools:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)

Certifications & Standards:

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
• First Aid certification
