A leading civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the rail sector is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Specialising in minor works and asset management, they operate on high-volume, low-value projects within Network Rail frameworks.
About the Role:
This role focuses on Civil Asset Management (CAM) and Building Asset Management (BAM), covering:
CAM - Drainage works, structural defects, and infrastructure maintenance.
BAM - Maintenance of Network Rail buildings, including stations, ticket offices, and signal boxes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple small-scale projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.
Manage budgets, cost control, and subcontractor relationships.
Prepare estimates, tender documents, and contractual claims.
Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Skills & Experience:
✔ Experience managing high-volume, low-value projects.
✔ Strong understanding of civil and building asset management.
✔ Proficiency in NEC contracts, contract administration, and compliance.
✔ Excellent cost management, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
✔ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Software & Qualifications:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Contract Management Systems
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Professional membership (e.g., RICS) desirable
