We are looking for an experienced data architect who will develop a _data model_ based on industry standards such as ACRIS, to provide data consumers with a clear understanding of the context and information being provided, and to help improve their data management processes. This work will initially support the Airport Operational Plan (AOP) and Airport Operational Database (AODB) renewal projects, which need to integrate data from various airport systems into a single consolidated view.
Key deliverables:
• Create a comprehensive Data Model framework artifact that defines the data domains, entities, and relationships at an enterprise scale.
• Align the data model, where appropriate, with industry standard models such as ACRIS to enable integration and understanding by data consumers.
• Provide data modelling and architecture expertise to support the Airport Operational Plan (AOP) and Airport Operational Database (AODB) renewal project, ensuring the data model meets both projects requirements.
• Work under the guidance of the Enterprise Data Model Forum to ensure alignment with the organisations broader data strategy and standards.
Additional responsibilities:
• Define robust Data Governance practices for the organisation, encompassing:
• Data Lineage: Track the origin, transformations, and movement of data to ensure transparency.
• Data Ownership and Stewardship: Define clear roles and responsibilities for data quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Data Quality: Establish processes to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and complete to support better decision-making.
• Data Security & Privacy: Implement controls to prevent unauthorized access and misuse of sensitive data.
• Data Classification: Categorise data based on sensitivity to inform appropriate security measures.
• Data Retention Policies: Define rules for data retention, archiving, and deletion based on legal, compliance, and business requirements.
• Define Data Precedence Rules and Master Data Management (MDM) processes to resolve conflicts between data sources.
• Establish Change Management and Version Control processes for handling changes to data structures, schemas, and data-related workflows
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
• Extensive experience as an Enterprise Data Architect, with a proven track record of delivering complex data modelling and governance initiatives.
• Deep understanding of data management principles, including data lineage, data ownership, data quality, security, and retention.
• Familiarity with industry standard data models, and the ability to adapt and extend them as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of data integration techniques, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools.
• Experience working with and contributing to an Enterprise Data Model Forum or similar governance structure.
