Senior Cloud Platform Engineer - £500-£550 per day - Outside IR35 - Remote - 6 month initial contract.
My client, a global nuclear engineering organisation, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms across both Azure and AWS. You will leverage your extensive automation expertise and work with modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to support complex cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS.
Develop and maintain automation frameworks to streamline cloud deployments and operations.
Utilize Bicep for Azure resource provisioning and management.
Work with Azure Batch to manage large-scale workloads.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
Ensure best practices in security, cost optimization, and compliance within cloud environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues to maintain platform reliability.
Requirements:
Proven experience with both Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Extensive experience in developing and implementing automation solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with Bicep and other Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Experience with Azure Batch for managing large-scale compute workloads.
Solid understanding and experience with AWS implementation best practices.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
