Senior Project Manager

Morson are thrilled to present a great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our esteemed client.

Our client is based in London, and their structure is designed for flexibility, offering a hybrid work model that blends office and remote work.

The Role

As the Senior Project Manager reporting to the Main Civils & Ancillary Works Programme Manager, youll spearhead and oversee all activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned contracts. Youll lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of Civils projects within the £100m-£500m range. In addition to directly managing Project Managers, youll coordinate with various disciplines within the project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategize and assure the delivery scope, managing interfaces with other programme elements.
Secure required resources, ensuring personnel competency and addressing any team shortcomings.
Develop and execute execution strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
Drive safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of activities, monitoring progress and addressing issues.
Act as an interface with Area Managers to ensure optimal project decisions.
Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues, identifying risks and facilitating resolutions.
Develop and maintain schedules, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule.
Apply Earned Value Management principles and report progress to Senior Management.
Review Contractors applications for payment and promote continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and foster effective team relationships.
Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in heavy civils within regulated industries, managing large projects and joint ventures. Proficiency in project management, financial management, change management, and facilitation is essential. Strong familiarity with estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools is preferred.

A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business is advantageous, alternatively, an HNC or chartership in construction is desirable. Demonstrated experience in managing projects from concept to handover, knowledge of CDM Regulations, and excellent numerical and analytical skills are required. Additionally, successful stakeholder engagement experience is crucial.
