We are now recruiting for a Project Engineer to join us permanently on our major project located near Newbury
Purpose and Scope:
The Project Engineer is to ensure that preparation for and during decommissioning activities is completed, the regulatory and statutory requirements upon Amentum and the Client are complied with and to ensure the design and safety intent is met. The Project Engineer shall take the project from cradle to grave within the Amentum UK business line (nuclear projects).
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance by Amentum personnel and subcontractors with the requirements of the clients Project Safety Plan, The Amentum Health, safety, Environmental and Plan and associated procedures, documents and legislation
• Ensure that construction work is undertaken to specification by the implementation of safe working methods
• Ensure that changes are effectively controlled, and that work is coordinated to minimise delays and costs in meeting schedule da

• Actively assist with the production and delivery of documentation for the work-pack
• Ensure that the work pack is supervised, checked and accepted in accordance with the relevant specifications, drawings and standards of workmanship
• Liaise with designers and / or technical experts to ensure correct interpretation of their requirements and obtain authorisation for modifications as a consequence of local conditions
• Produce forecasts of resource and labour requirements to satisfy the needs of project controls and commercial management, for their respective work area
• Keep auditable daily records of work undertaken by themselves and those within their control
• Work with construction manager to allocate appropriate resource
• Provide effective communication and co-ordination, liaise on interface working and ensure that overall work is planned and coordinated to achieve programme dates
• Ensure that construction personnel comply with the requirements of Amentum procedures and where applicable project specific procedures and quality assurance programmes are adhered to and met
• Basic project management skills – interfacing between cross-functional personnel e.g. Within Amentum, Client, Partners and 3rd Party contractors, Schedule, Cost and Risk Management
• Produce, and maintain in a timely manner, the documentation required for their part of the works: This includes Implementing Quality Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments all against Schedule, Cost and Risk Management.

• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Ideally Degree qualified or HNC/HND and or relevant industrial experience within a highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience in a similar position.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
• Organisation skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
Desirable:
Experience working in nuclear decommissioning.
Knowledge of applicable UK nuclear regulations, standards, specifications and test practices.
Successful applicant must be a British national and must be eligible to hold a DV level of security clearance.

• 75% on site and 25% workingat home
