PMP Technical Author

Job Title: Technical Author (Nuclear Contract)

Location: Warrington (3 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: 6 months (Inside IR35)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled PMP Technical Author to join our team, reporting directly to the PMP Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Engineering Design and demonstrate proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, installation method statements, and risk assessments. A solid understanding of construction activities, ideally within a nuclear site environment, is essential.

Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating hazards across a broad spectrum of engineering, construction, and operational activities, with a focus on nuclear safety, conventional safety, environmental management, waste management, construction, security, resilience, training, operations, maintenance, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage high-quality technical documents in line with project requirements.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation method statements.
  • Identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures in relation to nuclear and conventional safety, environmental and waste management, construction, and operational activities.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate, clear, and compliant documentation.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work within a highly collaborative project environment, requiring strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Author in an engineering or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering design processes and nuclear site operations.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents and identify potential hazards.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and risk management principles within nuclear and construction sectors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Onsite presence required at least 3 days per week at the Warrington office.
  • Travel occasionally required. Expenses will be reimbursed.
