HSSE Services Manager

And right now, we’re looking for HSSE Services Manager. Based at our Capenhurst location you’ll be one of four (Chemical Process, Enrichment, Site Services Waste & Decommissioning Operations) Directorate HSSE Services Managers that provide frontline Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) advice to their Directorate and partner with the HSE Shared Service and CNO leadership to ensure appropriate service delivery into the business unit.
To achieve this they co-operate with the HSE Shared Service and CNO departments to ensure provision of the required services from within the HSE and CNO department, to the required quality and at the required time. Acting as the focal point for these services within the business centres, ensuring that the necessary advice and guidance in relation to compliance matters is in place and managed effectively.
In addition will be responsible for providing advice and guidance in relation to complex HSE queries, thus enabling the Directorate and the wider organisation to operate in a safe, secure, legally compliant, cost effective and consistent manner, reflecting good practice in support of their business objectives

What will your day look like?

• Act as the single point of contact for applicable Business Centre to ensure the required HSE services are delivered effectively and within a timely manner
• Facilitate delivery of an effective safety culture within the applicable Directorate
• Ensure maintenance of a certified Management System for the applicable Directorate
• Contact point and lead to ensure an effective Assurance Programme is delivered for the applicable Directorate and drive action plans for improvement

What do you need to be great at this role?

• University degree or equivalent operational experience
• Relevant experience of management of safety in a high hazard industry (chemical/nuclear)
• Relevant experience of complex Incident / accident investigations
• Relevant Health and Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma (or equal)
• Experience of working with operational leadership teams
• Broad knowledge on the range of HSSE subjects, able to provide detailed guidance in at least one subject matter area
• Experience in Asbestos
• Experience within construction and deconstruction.
